Expect to see me in a lot of outfits like this when I return. No trip to Bangor is complete without a $60 trip to the gap.
Here is a fashion related rundown of my week:
Monday-Wednesday: Nothing to speak of, or take photos of. I’m not fashion forward at all; I’m stuck in the jeans, v-neck and a necklace phase of my life. I do wear wedge heels though, that has to count for something? Right?
Wednesday night: ANTM was on. I’ll blog about that later.
Thursday night: Project Runway – I started watching that last night. I still haven’t updated from last week’s episode. I suck at blogs.
I went to Bangor yesterday with my mother and aunt. We did the usual “we’re from Canada” circuit… Kohl’s, Old Navy, Bangor Mall, Target and Burlington Coat Factory. I SPENT SO MUCH MONEY.
ok. Kohl’s. Whenever I go to the store I get really excited. They carry brands I like wearing… like Apt. 9, ELLE and Simply Vera by Vera Wang. There is always SOMETHING on sale. Yesterday was no different. Like many stores in Canada, the first round of fall attire is on the clearance rack. I was expecting 20-50% off… but no. I spent a fair amount of time at the 80% off rack. 80%? Reasons I never buy things full price…. I picked up an oversized t-shirt by Simply Vera and a sweater vest (black, obv) by some brand I’ve never heard of. I got the usual “this stuff is so cheap” stuff like socks, knee highs and of course a shower curtain. I can’t leave a $2.50 shower curtain behind FFS.
At Old Navy they had the “Extra 50% off clearance” sale still going on. My eyes lit up and my heart was filled with joy. I picked up a long button up sweater vest for $5.99, a pair of velvet-like pants for $8.25, a white golf shirt for $2.99 and a silly pair of blue flats for $2.99. A good haul, I must say.
The mall was, overall, disappointing. I had really high hopes for this Charlotte Russe store. Lindsay warned me that it’s disposable clothing… but i just didn’t listen. I should have. What a junk store. The jewelry was cute, but not worth sifting through. The clothing was in a mess and poorly organized. The sale racks were not sorted at all… not even by size.
Not all was lost though… I found a pair of boot cut jeans at the GAP for $7.50. PARTY!
Target was great, but nothing clothing related. I don’t have time to browse their clothes. I did, however, look at their shoe department like I did with every store that day. I’ve been trying really hard to find a pair of booties with a 2-2.5″ heel. I found a few pairs i liked at each store but there was always something that didn’t tickle my fancy. They were either too high, which would end up being a waste of money, too expensive or leather. Sigh. By the time I find a pair they won’t even be fashionable anymore.
I was empty handed at the Burlington Coat factory.
Marden’s was the come from behind victor of my cross-border shopping trip. They must have had a very large shipment come in from somewhere… I was assuming Zellers or Target. I walked away with 5 pairs of shoes for under $15. One pair was $7.50. If I wasn’t so darn lazy I would post photos.
Wow, great day. I would go back again tomorrow. I love you, USA shopping.
