There are certain things in my life I get anxious about… too many items on my desktop, too many items on my to-do list and too many pairs of shoes.
How many pairs is too many pairs?
After I rounded up all of my shoes… from my car, the front closet, my bedroom closet, the back door…. I counted 90 pairs. 90. The consensus from my girlfriends was that 90 was too many.
I swear my phone buzzed and dinged for a good hour while my Facebook friends and girlfriends via text message chimed in with their recommendations for PURGING.
Here’s how it all went down:
Step 1: I started the purge by sorting… black heels together, brown and grey shoes together, sneakers and miscellaneous heels all grouped together.
{ Sad to say it, but this wasn’t all of them }
Step two was to remove the shoes that were visibly “garbage”. Third was to remove the doubles.
(Does a person really need 5 pairs of Chuck Taylor’s?)
I called Adam in and had him remove shoes he didn’t care for. That was great. He has an excellent memory and takes note of what I wear regularly.
Of the shoes I no longer wanted, I made a pile for girlfriends with the same size feet.
The final shoe count was somewhere around 33 pairs. I’m totally comfortable with this. Stay tuned for details of my next Rhoda’s excursion. You might luck in with some size 7, 7.5 and 8 shoes!
